I make and sell coats, mainly for whippets, and what I have in stock will be displayed on this page. What you see here is ready made and can be shipped ASAP. This will most likely be my last season of coat making, and most of what you see here will be the last ones of their kind - so from now on it's first come, first served, when my stock of the various materials is finished, that's it. About my whippet coats:
I started doing this 6 years ago, after a few frustrating purchases of not very well fitting (or just plain unattractive) coats for my own whippets. I'm quite happy with them myself, and have received a lot of praise from very happy customers. With proper care they will last for years (I have some still in use that are 5 years old now and still in perfect condition).
They are more expensive than the average whippet coat; partially because of the complex construction and the time involved - every coat takes about four hours to make. Also, I go for quality, and good materials cost good money.

SiZES:
These are based on European whippets (show type) and are standardized. If your whippet is particularly long/short/overweight and may not fit a standard coat, I will help if I can, and if I have the time for a special order and have the requested material in stock. I am thinking of adding a few coats in "extra long" versions, for whippets with a longer body & less curvy back. Feel free to contact me with questions or suggestions!
Males/Females: The design is different for males, to allow for the male anatomy, so all coats are gender specific. Currently I'm building up stock for females, but will soon get started on the male versions.
I will tailor the closing velcro to your particular dog's waistline, so that's a measurement I will need no matter what. Or, an option is to leave the last velcro piece unfinished; that way you may choose the placment yourself and have it put on by a local seamstress or similar.
The standard sizes are simply: S, M for females (L can be made on demand), and M and L (+ or -) for males.
Most females will fit S or M, and a few L. L sometimes made as L+ or L-. This means athat a plus is roomier, for the bulkier/more muscled dog, and minus is for a more slender built male.
Most European males will fit L, smaller males can sometimes fit M - even the female version.
If you are unsure about the size, I can help if you provide me with a few basic measurements.
CARE:
Care is very easy. All coats can be machine washed on 40 C. Remember to close the velcro before washing. Tumble drying is not recommended. Just like human clothing, they can be damaged by sharp objects - running through the woods, playfighting, vigourous scratching by sharp nails, and so on.
I have heard comments about this type of closing not being suitable for males. This is incorrect, but the male closing
part is slightly differently designed to allow them to urinate without soiling the coat.
