Fideo is a Galgo, rescued from Spain. He came to live with us in November 2008, and he's a real sweetheart, with a very gentle temperament.
He's been through a lot in his short life - starvation, illness and abuse. He was found eating garbage on the Sevilla Fair, in April 2008 - emaciated, and very ill from pneumonia and dystemper, he could not walk anymore, he was temporary blind from an eye infection and severly traumatized. Much of his face and body had wounds and burns, and the bigger scars he will carry all his life - the smaller ones are now invisible, after his coat has grown back. His rescuer, a wonderful woman named Yolanda, named him Fideo, which is Spanish for noodle, because he was so skinny. He proved to be a fighter, and has now overcome his health issues, and is rapidly losing many of his fears, and is already an easy and integrated member of the family. He's now so relaxed that he's beginning to show us his sense of humour - there's so much happiness left in this boy! He loves the other dogs and is often found sleeping or cuddling with the siamese cats in our two combined households. The future is finally looking bright for our Fideo!
